BR - cant afford mobile phone contract

Hi, and Merry christmas:) (My first with no credit cards:eek: )
I kept my mobile phone contract but every month it seems to be getting more expensive and I just cant afford it, and hate the lack of control that comes with it.
Is there any way to get out of the contract? I upgraded not long before my bankruptcy, so still have about 7 months left on it. They wont let me reduce it further and its just getting impossible!

tip:- if you dont ring out on it it wont cost you any more than the rental (stop when you hit the inc mins/txts allowance)
mines £10 a month with virgin (300+300) and is rarely over £150 -
Have you told them that you were made bankrupt? According to their own terms and conditions, you are not allowed to have a contract with them but I don't know whether that means they'll ask you to pay up for the remainder of the contract now.0

I don't know if this might be an option for you but I know that Orange offer a suspended contract if you're struggling for any reason. You can either request it if you're struggling but don't owe them any money or if you owe them money and get put onto their payment plan they suspend your line rental charges and limit your phone to incoming texts and calls until the balance is clear.
Hope this helps

I don't quite understand how it "get's more expensive" out of your "control" if you have a contract?Debt free by 2025?0 -
Can you lower the tarriff? Or maybe try and implement some form of self control? If it's getting more expensive it means you're using it more beyond the minutes and texts agreed on the contract...?0
