Hi all,
i've been looking to buy a 120gb classic ipod for a xmas present. I planned on buying it from amazon but simple hadn't got around to it. Before the vat cut it was being sold for £162. then on the 1st dec it went down to £158.55 reperesenting the 2.5% cut. last night it was still on sale at £158.55, i've just gone to buy it and it's back up to £162.00
I went as far as the payment page to see if the vat reduction was calculated there but no, it appears that the ipods selling price is £162.....
i'm as confident that i can be without actually buying it that it will show vat at 15% on £162 which would calculate the net selling price as £140.87, which is higher than the original at 17.5% which would have given a net price of £137.87......
has anyone else come across this? i find it very fishy indeed that the selling price is exactly that before the vat cut.

I find that Amazons pricing is fluid depending on supply and demand. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes down. It's pot luck really. The man without a signature.0

Quite likely it will have something to do with the fall in exchange rate of the pound/dollar.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Or it could be that they re charging VAT at 15% but have simply increased the price to make up for it.0
