Some advice on account limits etc..

Hello everyone
Basically, i had a huge account with additions Direct. Finally paid it all off a few months ago - well i think about half a year ago now (Yay!!)
Anyway, when i paid it off i told them to hut the account. Loads of 'why? But we can offer you this that or the other' converstaions but finally got them to close it. Or so i thought. They sent me a letter of cancellation but infact just lowered my account limit to 0. I rang up and said nope i want it totally cancelled because they kept sending me stupid mailing lists etc.
Have just checked, and it still isnt cancelled, and they have increased my limit back up to £100. Now its only £100 and i dont plan on using it and i was just going to ring them up and cancel it AGAIN but i just thought i would ask the question, will this help my credit rating.
Because it will show as i am not using my available credit limit/availabel percentage of credit. I have already lowered my nationwide card to £500 - the minimum possible, and was planning on cancelling that too but then i read somewhere about how companies take into account how much of your credit you are using.
So if they look at it now, they will see i have a CC for £500 with a 0 balance, additions with £100 limit but a 0 balance and also a virgin card with £1500 limit - and now with a £1000 balance (
) So it will show as i am using 47% or something of my availabel credit (which i no is bad anyway but i will be obviously reducing it within the next few days)
But if i closed the Nationwide CC and the additions account, it will show as me using £1000 credit of my £1500 limit - so does that look worse, or does it look better having less accounts.

Hi
I wonder if writing to them might be the way to go. Write to them highlighting when you called and your request. Repeat the request and ask them to write and confirm when the account has been closed. Give them a time limit and send the letter recorded/signed for.
Good luck

I think this just sums them up completely - they don't appear to have a clue, other than just reading from their "script of the day"!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
