Maybe it is discounted because of the news story about elephants living for less years in zoo! What happens to your adoption when they die early?

There are two on there and only one is reduced to that price so I wouldnt have thought it was for that reason .
The adoption is for one year - This particular elephant is in an African Park and not a zoo and hopefully if they get enough buyers he/she will live on to a ripe old age -
