Hi,
We have used an xbox 360 on 2 hd ready tv's, and both have had no problems accepting 1080i from xbox. Is the xbox set up properly, just a thought, as ours used to output 1080i even on our original Panasonic sd screen plasma, which only had a resolution of 480 but still accepted at 1080i.
Some games were only 720p though.
Worth looking at 360 settings first. If you look on avforums you may get more help and replies from there in the games section. Good Luck !!
Hope this may help you.

I was going to suggest changing the x box 360 output to 1080i, have a look here:

to see if this helps you more.
As for the tv, apparently it's a slightly different display, have a look here:

There's a link at the bottom that seems helpful. I'm not sure at the mis-sold bit, I'm sure someone will be along soon who can help you.

youd have no cahnce of taking it back after 18 mths you need to adjust the settings on your tele to change it also check the games are compatible with the the settings of 1080ip some arentReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

1080i is about the same as 480p as the i means interlaced whilst the P means progressive scan.
What interlaced means basically is that ever every other line is crt whilst in progressive every line is crt.
Its complicated but basically means that 1080i only has half the crt than 1080p so there for you wouldn't be able to connect at 1080p on a 1080i tv as it just couldn't do it, it would only be able to go to half 1080p which is 540p but there isn't a 540p the nearest is 480p.0 -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1080i
and...Of note, a very popular panel size used in mid-range HDTVs is 1366 x 768 and are often advertised as 1080i "compatible" or "HD ready" - however these TVs, while accepting a 1080i signal will scale it down to the panel size of 1366x768 as they are physically incapable of displaying 1920x1080 resolutions.
http://hd1080i.blogspot.com/2006/12/1080i-on-1366x768-resolution-problems.html
Suffice to say your 360 should be generating either a 720p or 1080i signal, & your tv should be either up-scaling(720p) or down-scaling(1080i) to it's display res. of 1366x768.
If it isn't, something is set-up wrong - or your tv does not do what it claims.
Though looking at the manual for your tv, it makes no mention of it's HD signal processing capabilities anywhere.0 -
So it won't display 720p either?
Does the Beko have an auto detect or is there a setting that says manual detect in the menu whilst in hdmi mode? Maybe after changing the resolution on the xbox quickly flick through the channels on the tv and back again to hdmi? [i.e. hdmi > tv > scart > component > hdmi]0 -
ok then that means its a software issue on the tv... An engineer would cost quite a bit I would suspect, about £30-£50 considering what you paid for the actual tv...0

I assume the upgrade is firmware0
