  • this may be of intrest - costco are doing 20% off for memebrs that re-new there membership - to claim you have to buy a set 4 and have to have that member with you to claim the offer - i bought some 195/65/15 they were michellen energy and for the lot it cost me 168 or something including vat and fitting.

Sorry cant rember the details when offer expires - but excellent value for money

yep - i used them last year. I ordered on the net and their local agent(local garage to us) phoned me sameday and came to our house. I chose the same tyres that were on my car. Super service and very reasonable - also beats waiting in the queue at kwikfit!

Buy either Falken or Khumo. Both excellent tyres IMHO. Price includes delivery and get your local tyre place to fit them.

Or buy tyres off ebay (soemtimes part worn) and have them fitted locally. Always buy my tyres in advance to avoid high prices. Sometimes you can get a set of alloys on tyres from ebay and just ebay your set of alloys on!

A widely stated opinion, but following that logic you would never drive a rental car and when you buy a used car you would change all the tyres before driving it.

Yes I agree about part worns but I think you will find few tyre fitters will fit a dangerous tyre if you bring one to them. 3 Michellin part worns were £65 for my Espace - 2 new tyres would have been about £225, if you take care it can be alright but caution is the watchword! Best to collect in person to examine the tyre.

I saw a set of BMW E60 (new 5 series) tyres and BMW 16" alloys go on ebay for £77 buyer to collect. They had 4 new high quality tyres. Now the tyres fit my 5 series but I thought I could get a real bargain so only bid £75! rats. The tyres are about £90 each alone. Nobody wants 16" wheels on their BMW so there are quite a few about, which is good for me as I am not fussy. Item no #4601975016 now that was a bargain!

Local Just Tyres are not cheap anymore for me, more on a par with KwikFit. They were OK when they first started but since they went bust the new owners are not so free with prices. You luckily must have a certain size/make of tyre, as that is the great variable in the search for the cheapest tyre.

Yep...that's what I said in my previous post! Their good prices depend on the bulk buys they have. But the list is pretty comprehensive...
