Removing names from address

I've just moved in to a new home. The previous owners got in to financial difficulty's and incurred large debts. I'm still receiving letters addressed to them 3 months on.
I remember a while back I had a template for a letter that you sent to experian/Equifax that asked to remove names that were linked to your address.
Can anyone point me in the direction where I can get this again please?

Have you regstered with the local council on the Electoral Roll?
Thses are now updated on a rolling basis and as financial companies use this as a reference for credit searches, they would easily see that the person in question no longer lives there.
secondly, in the absence of a forwarding address, mark all correspondance as "Return to sender, no longer at this address" and post it back in the letterbox.
Note that the credit reference agencies are not supposed to link records to addresses, just individuals and any other person with whom they have a joint financial relationship (e.g. Joint current, account, mortgage, etc). If you are worried that yout credit record may be impaired, you can make a request (for a small fee) to see a copy of the record
Hope this starts you off.
SmileyGTarget acheived: _party_ Mortgage offset in June 2012!_party_Mortgage = -£98Endowment = £0Investments = £40,247[STRIKE]Deficit[/STRIKE] / Surplus = £40,149(at 22/09/2017)"Don't spend then save, save then spend!"0 -
Good advice from SmileyG - just remember that addresses aren't 'blacklisted', contrary to some old wives tales! Credit reports are much better at specifically tying information to individuals these days

Ok thanks for the advice.0

Thanks for asking this - I'm in the same boat. I've been worried that the bailiffs would come and knock on my door and I'll have to prove that the person no longer lives here - and how am I supposed to do that?
Will take all the advice as above.0
