Ruthbridge with a Twist

Hello all, first timer with a classic problem it seems - but it has a twist.

First a little backstory:

Some time ago my mother's identity was partly stolen by a fraudster. They got her last name and address only. So not really identity theft as much as "I have your address".

So we started getting letters from BSkyB about a "Barbara O'Brien" (my mother's name is NOT Barbara, and she is the only woman in our household).

We called BSkyB, explained the situation, they were very helpful and told us not to worry - and the letters stopped.

Then some months later they started again. Different contact details this time and we did call them again to explain the situation. However all we got for our trouble was being shouted at (yes, shouted at down the phone) for daring to open "other people's post" (Excuse me, the person does not exist, the issue was closed by BSkyB). But, the letters stopped.

Now we're getting mail for Barbara O'Brien again. We never open it any more, just put "Addresse not known at this address - Return to Sender" and stick it back in the post. We saw through the little plastic windows that this was coming from Ruthbridge Ltd. Before phoning them (after finding their website) I happened upon the horror stories here. We dare not call them - we just return the letters.

Until we got a threatening letter addressed to "The Occupier". Apparently it's URGENT DELIVERY or some such nonsense - with no letter head and a very faint disclaimer in tiny font at the bottom telling us it's from Ruthbridge Ltd.

What do we do? How do we go about ending their harrassment over a woman that has never existed? We don't even have Sky TV, and Sky apparently closed the case almost 18 months ago.

Chris.
