March 2010 Brides...what do you have booked?!

Hi Guys,
Getting hitched in March 2010 and i'm starting to freak out a bit about how little I have booked. Church and reception place are both booked and my dress is bought and I thought I was doing fine with that. However I went on another wedding forum and all the March 2010 brides had tons more booked for example photographer, cars, cake.
So all you March 2010 brides, what do you have booked? I'm getting in a bit of a panic now. I know theres over a year left still but its definitely kicked my butt in gear to start looking at things.
Also how are you timing things for the big day? IE what time for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and what time will the evening do start/finish? We have the ceremony booked for noon, but now I think this is too early. I'm thinking of starting the ceremony at 2.00pm, this and photographs at the church should take a maximum of 1 hour 30 mins. Then 30 mins to get to reception venue with pictures being taken there at 4ish. Wedding breakfast 4.45 ish and evening do 7-11. What do you all think, do those timings sound about right? I'm worried about hours of daylight in March too for taking pictures.
Thanks for your help!

Hi and congratulations
Try not to get into too much of a panic - people on other forums may have said that they have already booked x and y but you don't know what they have done for certain.
If you get married later in the day then there is no real need to have an evening do unless you want one.
Rather than get overly stressed about it, why not speak to a wedding planner as he/she may be able to help you save some money and will be able to work out a plan for you even down to the timings on the day that you get married.0 -
See now, till I read this, I thought I was well on top of things! I'm August 09 (just over 8 months:eek: ) and still haven't booked florist, hairdresser, bought rings, bridesmaid dresses, cake or even looked at Groomsmens outfits.
I really wouldn't worry - you have WELL over a year yet. Dress, church and reception? Those are the most important things aren't they? Everything else will come.
I think this trend of booking things two years in advance is crazy. Who'se to say your dress will fit you in a year and a half's time? (not being nasty - my weight has altered by nearly a stone in a year without me seeming to alter anything)
As for timings all ours is organised by the venue but your timings are nearly identical to us. We're having our ceremony at 2pm also and sit down for dinner at 4.30pm with evening 'do' at 7.30pm. As for dayling hours - can't help you there i'm afraid with us being August but your photographer (when you book them!) should be able to advise you or even account for certain conditions with equipment.
Don't panic! You have plenty of time yet. If YOU don't, i'm screwed lol.
Sk obviously needs to get her skates on!
SK xAfter 4 years of heartache, 3 rounds of IVF and 1 loss :A - we are finally expecting our miracle Ki11en - May 2014 :j
And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!0 -
there is a name for all these women that organize their do's two years ahead BRIDEZILLA'S, take a deep breath chill out and enjoy making your wedding plan's you have over a year and taste's change,(the dress you will die for today looks pale against the dress your find three months from now) you've booked the venue so thats the hardest part over, now the fun stuff starts (the dress, rings, flowers etc etc) take your time so they are perfect for you,....good luck, best wishes and chill out and enjoy xx0

well we are getting married in march 2010 also and so far .....have booked nothing, only bought some d-i-y invitations and a wedding crochet-lace bolero!
We have narrowed down 2 reception venues - one is a restaurant, where they take care of most things; other is just rooms you hire and have to sort everything else. Our budget is 4k.
We have fallen in love with the second option but am still working out practicalities and price - this option will be more work and probably end up spending more. (bigger grander space involved).
We also need to decide between church vs registry office.
I have done a load of research but we dont seem to have got anywhere yet!
I am considering entertainment at the moment. There will only be about 40 people, we are not really into having a dj but like the idea of a casino table. I am planning on using music playlists on my laptop connected to sound system as we do want music. But looking at casino hire sites, the standard time seems to be for 3 hours, so I am thinking we might need something else as well? maybe something like a ceilidh band, which can get all ages up and dancing but that would probably be pricey. anyone know one in the bath/wiltshire area they can recommend?
any thoughts welcome..I am going round in circles at the moment!

lol I've read that forum too! A year will be easily done for you though. I can see how people turn into bridezillas though. I'm not getting married June 2010 and am so excited I do nothing but plan - but I haven't parted with any cash yet.
We are on a tight budget aand I am currently obsessed which streching it as far as it can go as I seem to hit the limit quite easily My current thing is working out exactly what everything would cost in ebay at the moment so that I have an exact figure to work with, Unfortunatly everything currently comes to £4012 - I know its only twelve quid but there are principles at stake here!Had a thrifty wedding 17-06-10

Hi Jue'sDD, we’re getting married in June2010 and so far we’ve booked the venue, rang the register to be pencilled in and I’ve bought my dress.
We’ve looked around and discussed pretty much everything else, but haven’t booked anything else. And to be honest, we’re not in a rush. The only thing I want to get done soon are the save the date cards. There will be quite a few people travelling from Portugal for the wedding, so I want to give them plenty of notice.
But everything else can wait a bit longer.
The plan for the day is:
I will stay at the hotel the night before with my bridesmaids
The ceremony is booked for 4pm
Ceremony finishes at 4.30, photos until 5.30pm
Seat down meal to start at 5.30 until 8pm.
Evening guests to arrive at 8 until 1 am.0 -

Booked ceremony and reception venue and Photographer and cake.
Booked date with registrar.
Bought save the dates cards and will send these beginning of may 2009 and looking at invites.Booking disco in next couple of weeks.
Will start to look at dresses and florists around June dont want to start this too early.
Civil ceremony 2pm
Meal 4pm
Evening do 7pm-1am
Think i'm fairly organised but i'm sure i will flap at some point:T0 -
We've currently held a provisional date with a venue and registrar for March. I wouldn't get too worried. I've changed my mind about all sorts of things in the last 3 months, so I don't want to book everything too early anyway or I might wish I hadn't.
Also, booking earlier means more deposits to pay out. I'd never had booked anything more than a year ahead unless it was a summer bank holiday Saturday for example and you had your heart set on something.
There's no rush. What's the worst that happens - you find a band and they're booked - you'll find someone else. Nothing that can't be fixed. If it's meant to be, it will be.......
