Question for landy/milly users

I have decided to stop looking at bridal shops now. It is just to heartbreaking to find the perfect dress then find out it is a mere £950!!
So I have decided what style suits me so I am ready to order from milly/landy.
I have some quick questions about how to try to avoid disappointment as I know they will never be as nice as the original!
Can Milly/Landy pull off intricate designs? The dress I am thinking of has a lovely embroidery pattern on the bodice with crystals highlighing parts of it. Can they do this to a good standard or should I keep it to something simpler ie just crystals.
If a dress has a lot of internal support structure does Milly/Landy copy that support or is it just the dress?
Are the fabrics Landy/milly use as good as the ones in the shops?
I just find it crazy that for £200 you have to look to get copies made! It is mostly the embrodiary/decoration which is worrying me the most as that is such an important part of the dress!

Hi. I'm not married but I jus wanted to comment on my view of copy dresses. I have been to three weddings this year where the brides have ordered copies from China of a dress they've seen. The dresses look lovely but I have noticed how shiny the satin is and in photos there seems to be a lot of glare. Maybe I'm critical but having studied fashion for four years I have found that the quality of the fabric is just as important as the cut. Could you look at getting a dress in a sale? My sister got her dress this time last year and paid £200 for it. The non-sale price was £1000!!! It may be worth having a look?0

Bridal shops are still holding sales, they will be holding more sales in March when they start getting new stock for Autumn (the Harrogate Bridal Fair takes place during March - this is a trade show).See if you can find a sample, or a sale dress.
You could ask the bridal shop if they hire dresses, this may sound a bit mad but more shops are looking at hiring dresses because they know that brides don't necessarily want to spend £1000 on a dress that they will never wear again. It is their way of beating the credit crunch.
Personally, I would avoid Landy like the plague - if you end up getting a dress that isnt what you expected the bridal shops won't help you when you take it to them to be altered.0 -
Hiya.
I have my dress from Milly. I also ordered a bridesmaid dress. The bridesmaid dress has quite a lot of embroidery and crystals on and it is absolutely beautiful. Mine is all fold detail. Milly kept in touch with me constantly, sending regular pictures of the dresses and altering them at every picture pretty much. They also made the dresses in the fabric I wanted. They were originally going to make it from taffeta, but made it in satin as I requested. It is always worth getting the fabric samples first so you can choose which you prefer. I only have good things to say about them. Also my h2b did the measuring for mine and it turned out fine!0
