If you have found something is out of stock - Keep checking!
Reservations are a headache but those are reset every day (Most people say Midnight).
But a new trick I have seen in use is "Next Delivery Info". You CANNOT reserve the next delivery items unless you do so IN STORE, as the website will claim the items are out of stock until they are unlocked into the store.
It seems the reason why many clearance items are out of stock for home delivery is that they are sending some to stores around the local area every few days
A bit of work to get these second chance bargains but well worth it

Hi Johnt,
Thanks for the info, but how excactly do u reserve it then? Do u mean u have to do it at an Argos? So i can't do it online?
Thanks0 -
I thought the title of this thread was describing the state of my spare room!! :rotfl:0

Reservations are actually reset around 20 minutes after the store closes, as this is one of the tasks the system performs as it puts it self into "overnight mode"
On the website as far as i know you can order stock into store as long as its in stock in the warehouse, this is the case with extra items.
Edit - As an after thought most stores at the moment as well are moving around the stock rooms in prep for the new catalogue, and i know in my store stock is being found that we are not meant to have, this means that in some cases lines that may have been out of stock for ages could be plused back on. I know in my store we are finding errors we minused pre peak (october ish). So it may be worth if an item is showing as out of stock keep an eye out. Long shot i know

If the item is in stock but reserved (Hard to tell) you can reserve it yourself if the person who reserved it before you didn't collect. This method can be done online usually after midnight.
If they have an item coming in you can reserve any quantity of it (x), but it will only say "x for delivery on Day/Date" in store on the stock checkers. They will only show up as 'in stock' on the website etc when they are finally released and placed in the stockroom at the store. By this time it could be too late!0 -
As someone who has been re-reserving items for a day or two until I could collect them - some stores release the reservation about 20 minutes after the store closes whilst others release at any time after the store closes (although one released the reservation about an hour BEFORE the store closed)- it seems to be completely random0

This definately seems to be particular to each store although stores in a certain area will often all have the same policy.
Only way to find out when your store puts reserved items back into stock is to ask them. My local stores are after midnight.Herman - MP for all!
