have you tried the Glasgow council (or whatever they are called in Scotland) website? The Westminster one is very helpful at showing what operates when, for parking........(good luck)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

St Vincent St is quite long - where are you going?
There are one or two multi story CPs ( one is NCP) on adjacent streets at the city centre end that I have been in. Hellish expensive but well signposted, likely to be fairly quiet at that time and since you only expect to be there a few hours won't cost more than your meal ..... -

Hi
Go to -

This is all the glasgow council car parks. Much cheaper than NCP and very well lit etc. As Fraserca says, St Vincent Street is quite long. There is a council car park at the charing cross end, behind the Kings theatre. And also one in Cambridge street, a five minute walk away from St Vincent Street. The above link has a map and shows the car parks.
hope this helps! Are we still waiting to sing as hummingbirds?0 -
Parking in Glasgow is free on the meters on Saturday if I remember rightly. There are lots of meters in the streets around St. Vincent street.0

I'm afraid parking hasn't been free on saturday in Glasgow for yonks.
Meters need fed until 6 p.m. and most are the pay and display type. It costs approx 1p per minute which is about the same cost as the council owned covered lots. The only day parking is free in town is on Sundays. Most stores are open Sunday p.m. though. If you're considering doing the meter thing, bring change with you.0 -
Can I just add that the car park behind the Kings Theatre is really expensive. I always use the Cambridge Street one, you can usually get a space and it is very reasonable. It is also secure, with good lighting and security cameras. Only downside are beggars hanging around the pay machines - ignore them!
Although it is at the 'top end' of the town, ie the Sauchiehall St end, it is only a short walk to St Vincent St.0 -
Thank-you for all your help with this, it's good to know that the parking on the meters is till 6pm, is there a maximum time limit that you can be parked on the meters at. I can't remember the number we are going to but it's in about the middle and there are meters right outside the building. Will have a look at the website address suggested to.
Thanks again0 -
Be very careful that you read the signs at meters. Some areas you have to pay til 10pm. Parking attendants now work until 9/10pm many nights & tow away a massive amount of cars from the outskirts of the city. And if you get towed away in the evening theres a chance the pound will be closed when you return to get your car. You can usually only park at meters for 2 hours at a time.
Remember restrictions are every day now including Sundays and holidays (Except Xmas Day

Just thought Id add to this, I was in town today & it appears the 'out of town' meters (ie ones at places like The Mitchell etc) ARE free on a Saturday. The ones in town arent. So if you dont mind a wee bit of a walk into town you CAN get free parking
