JSA Question.

Hi.I was laid off last week.I made a claim for JSA today. My first signing on is on Wednesday.Presuming I fulfill my Jobseekers agreement I'll receive my first payment on Monday the 22nd.I was then due to sign on on the 31st,but the person who I spoke to marked this down as 'excused'.So If I find no work in between I'll sign on again on the 14th of Jan.Does this mean I get payments for the 17th until the 31st before or after the new year.Hope this makes sense.Thanks.

Yes it does mean that, its probably likely you'll get your payment for the 31st before Christmas. Good luck with getting a job before the 14th of Jan so you don't have to "sign on" more than once!

this is what is on the note they gave me from jobcentre when I signed on on friday
I was due to sign on 26th dec but am excused so next time I go is 9th Jan
the payments over xmas "maybe sent early, they will not be treated as overdue, until three working days after your normal attendance day"
so I think you may get it before 31st but also may not get it until around the 5th/6th jan there is no guarantee HTH
