full & final settlement offers?

hey everyone,

After reading loads of threads i'd like to first thanks everyone for such good honest comments and experiences, its not easy talking about debt and its even harder being honest!

A little about my situation... I owe around 9k, I'm past the denial stage, negotiated with lenders (like a DMP but done it myself) now i'm at the point where i've realised i'm doing myself no favours by still going round in circles! The debts are old and to honest i've just about had enough of them!

I've come up with a very strict budget that i could save enough money to possibly clear everything in a year... If i can reduce f+f settlements to 60%! :-)

My debtors are...
Egg =6k
2x blair, oliver & scott DCA totaling =2k
Triton DCA=400
Another company that hasn't contacted me for over a yr and i cant find the company name (was barclays overdraft) = 1800

Has anyone dealt with these company's or even settled? Any info would be wonderful :-) i'm not sure i stand a chance with egg but i'm thinking it may be worth letting it go to a DCA considering the amount?

Thanks, :-) x

    You can but try, i would also do a search in the forum (facility at the top) for further threads on the matter.

    The thing about F/F settlement offers is that you are in effect telling them you can put your hands on a large chunk of the money owed . So why do they not just get you to pay more each month . Their thinking not mine .
    You need to get a notice of assignment from them first showing they have the OC authority to collect on the account . Some people have paid a Dca what they thought was F/F , only to be chased later on for the balance.

    Specifically relating to Blair, Oliver and Scott, I've started a post on offering/planning to make payments to them. Please search for posts started by me, as there were a few useful posts there. Feel free to add to the discussion, as the more people who see it, the more feedback we'll get :)
