Good Morning all, question re police...

I have an interview on Tuesday!! For a job as police staff...now, I go BR on 19th Dec....do I tell them i'm going BR or keep it schtum?! Will it affect my employability as police staff, I know it's different with Police Officer jobs.
I've had Security Clearances before (these do credit checks) as I am currently employed by the MoD and they've never been an issue, but I've never been BR before!
Not sure how to approach this one...

have you been asked verbally or on paper if you are or ever have been BR?
should you get the job would you be BR before or after?0 -
Did the application ask 'are you or have you ever been bankrupt?'
Is the job FSA regulated?Namaste DeeDee x0 -
I haven't been asked if I am or have ever been BR verbally or on paper. The SC form stated that it will do a credit check for the security clearance though. And I know there's alot of stigma about police and bankruptcy.
The interview is 16th, BR is 19th. So the SC would probably be done after BR.0 -
The job isn't FSA regulated no. It's a regular admin police staff job0

Civilian police staff should not be a problem as long as you are honest about things if asked in person or on any application/check.
Even MoD/government security clearance (including up to things like Developed Vetting) isn't sometimes a problem as long you don't try to hide anything.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Isn't Dez a policeman? Perhaps Hannah could PM him.0

I wouldn't think it would be a problem for police staff. You should be honest about it though if asked as integrity for any police post is paramount.

A friend of mine was falsely accused of text harrassment by her ex. There was even proof on her mobile phone that he had been harrassing her. She wasn't even cautioned by the police but they came round to tell her to stay away and at the same time admitted they could see he was the guilty one not her.
Her job offer for police admin staff (training and development) was then withdrawn as his report caused her to failed the vetting. She was completely gutted.
Not the same as being bankrupt I appreciate, but I think you should prepare yourself for the possibility that it will affect you.0 -
Hmm, I've never been involved with the police in that way...I've never had a caution, or visit or any dealings with them! I'm a good girl
lol.
Thanks for the info though0 -
