The banks want you to play by their terms and conditions but these T&Cs should also stay within the law inc. - which is why they apply.
Hope this clarifies your mis-understanding.Proudly Banking & Saving With:

Open a credit card account with a SBT facility, pay off your account overdraft with this on a 0% rate. (maybe try stoozing get some money off the banks.) shut your HSBC account down, don't ever bother with them again. open a Alliance & L current account, get some interest 5% on this when your wages have been paid in. Thats my advice!0

Now, if you can explain to me how who i work for is any of your business, then i might consider telling you.
It would certainly help myself and others to understand your point of view more and help me personally understand why you so oppose my 'ethic'.0 -
I think the lack of answer has made it rather obvious.0

I agree with an earlier point about customer service being a dieing art. I sypathise with your experience, but I am afraid most financial institutions seem to be the same. I was with HBSC before moving tothe Alliance and Leicester and I don't rely on any of them to do anything correctly. The call centres based offshore have not been in my experience any better or worse than those in the UK. for you I think Dennyboy had the right advice0
