Hi I need to buy replacement ink for my printer as I only paid £10 for it. I don't want to spend a fortune on the ink. where's the cheapest place online to buy please.
HOW MUCH ?

You can (afaik) only buy them from Dell themselves. However, I understand that you can modify the lexmark catridges to fit. Unfortunately, lexmark catridges themselves arn't a great deal cheaper (around £15 for a black cartridge) and compatibles are not quite as widely available.
My advice would be to look for a cheap epson or canon printer instead - you should be able to pick up a brand new epson for around the £30 mark, but the catridges can be had very cheap (some models you can get new catridges for around 70p).
I guess it depends how often you use it - if it's only a couple of pages a month, then sticking with the Dell wouldn't be a bad idea. However, if you're going to be replacing the catridge every month, or more, then an alternative printer is the way to go.0 -
hi,
thechillpill has got it just about spot on - had one at work when they bought a dell machine and is fine for drafts/general a4 printing just nowt technical.
But you don't need to modify the cartridges at all - believe you need lexmark carts 10 (black) and 24 (colour). can get the black for £18 ish at pcworld( no one start) instead of £25 ish from dell and cheaper elsewhere just can't remember where sorry! The 'dell' printer is a rebranded lezmark z517.
btw, lexmark do a standard cartridge and one that supposedly lasts longer for more money, we just used the standard as office supplies company got them for £7, but more expensive might be worth a look. def a better idea to get an epson if you need it a lot or printouts to look good!

Buy a refill kit for £3-50 black and £4-99 coloured.
Refill my Dell £10 printer all the time with kits.0
