Oil of eucalyptus - for stain removal

Hi,
This is available in a small bottle from chemists but will last a long time and costs just over £1.
It will remove chewing gum and sticky tape; tar from skin, hair and paws. It dissolves other heavier oil stains making them easier to wash out. Being volatile, it evaporates quickly and rarely leaves a mark( if it does, the mark quickly washes out) If I am unsure what the stain is, I apply it prior to washing.
As an added bonus it will get rid of that lingering cold- you`ll recognize the smell!

Eucalyptus oil will also leave your hands lovely and soft!!! I wonder, have you ever added it to a wash in the WM, or does it have to be applied to the stain direct?

It`s best to apply to stain direct. Don`t be discouraged if it doesn`t `disappear` then( like on T.V ads!) but often has gone after a machine wash.0

I love MSE! I knew there would already be an answer to my question of "how do I get tar out of my husband's cream linen trousers?"
eucalyptus oil it is then!0 -
It also works well for getting rid of mould stains on washing machine seals
Another handy tip I learnt from here!

Seems eucalyptus oil works on oily stains on silk. Saw a handy tip in one of those magazine catalogues by people called Bellaju who seem to specalise in silk garnments. Anyway, they say to rub in a couple of drops & leave for a few minutes before handwashing (or using handwash setting on wm).
