Bank Question

Hi All,

Just a quick question....

We have opened a new bank account (on advice of Payplan), trouble is it wasn't set up in time for my wages to be paid into it. My wages are due on the 19th Dec, I managed to get it put in my personal account (insted of the joint account) as its not over the OD limit.

Fingers crossed I will be able to tansfer the money out the same day into my new account. Can HSBC stop the transfer once it has been sent?

Sorry if i have rambled.

Thanks in advance :)

  • I would have thought once its been sent, thats it but don't forget transfers take 3 days.
  • Is it possible to take the money out in cash and then pay it into your new account. I have an innate distrust of banks and don't like to leave things to chance !!! I would imagine though that once you trnasfer it you should be ok. Don't quote me on it though!!;)

  • I think I can only take £200 per day from the cash machine, I don;t fancy going into the bank as i really can't cope with speaking to them.

I think I will try and take £200 out then transfer the rest.
I'm just worried that I will send the payment and they will realise whats going on then take it back :(
  • Few (wipes sweat off brow). Crisis averted!!!

The bank rang this morning with my new account details. I spoke to my boss (who is also the finance director) explained the situation and he has put an amendment through to the payroll people to put it in the new account.
My boss in not an ogre after all.

Thanks for you advice guys :)

Thats good news! Our HR department takes about 3 years to change bank details :rotfl: ! At least you can breathe easy now!
