Complaint to Northern Rock Cancelling PPI - Advice Please!

  • Had another call from Northern Rock at lunchtime confirming that I have sent in a complaint, confirmed that I had sent it in writing. I wonder how else they thought they would receive it!

    The saga continues!
  • Linda,

You are giving me ideas now!
  • Got a letter from Northern Rock this morning saying I was in arrears for my ppi part of my loan, really stressed out, thinking about phoning payplan and seeing what they say - this is really making me feel ill, can't remember the last time I had a decent nights sleep and eaten anything, and am crying at my desk at work!

I think the difficulty here is can you prove you were made to take the ppi out or the loan wouldn't be granted ? Or, you are now, after visiting this site more aware of your rights and feel you shouldnt have taken it out in the first place as you can source it cheaper elsewhere. Only you can answer that.

What would be of more concern to me if I were in your position is that your credit rating is being adversley affected as you are not making your full contractual payment. You mention payplan which could mean you are having difficulty anyway so your rating may already be shot.
  • I am concerned that may already be the case. It was through MSE that I discovered NR could not say to me that I would not get the loan if I did not take ppi.

I am worried that as I only able to make the minimum payments on things that I will be in a worse situation as each month goes by so that is why I am thinking of contacting paypal.
  • hi bumblebee

sorry to hear all the problems you are having with NR it might be worthwhile phoning payplan even if they just approach nr on your behalf.

you have sent a letter did you send it by recorded delivery if not it might be a good idea to do that then they can't say they didn't receive it.

  • Thanks I might do that!

Am planning on going through everything at the weekend, not looking forward to it but needs to be done before phoning payplan and getting more information. I just have a fear that in 6 months time my situation is going to be worse unless I take action now.

Thanks very much, things always look so much worse in the morning eh?
