Hey guys - !!!

Does anyone have an old computer that they don't want and would be willing to give it away.

P.S I live in London, but I am going to Blackpool soon - so either areas will be fine!

I am a 14 year old secondary student, and my parents will intermitently allow me to use their computer, but my school is ICT specialist, and my grades are dropping substancially due to me not having the access to a computer!

Please someone - i dont care how old it is, as long as it works, and has Windows 95 or higher on it!!

Take Care,
James

well that's one way of getting on the goodside of people.

You have been advised to sign up to freecycle, this site is for people who are giving away their unwantedstuff. Ergo, this was pretty good avice, take a look.
  • What she means is that we only have your word for it that you are 14 and a secondary school student! She is not being rude, we cannot see you!

As she says, sign up to freecycle, or see if your school knows of a charity that will give or lend you a computer.

I very much doubt if you will find anyone on a MONEY SAVING forum willing to give you a computer just like that, but maybe someone on freecycle will.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
  • Why would your parents send you to a school that specialises in ICT, then be tight when giving you time to use one?

    Weird. Lol.

So you have a pc at home.

Have you spoken to your parents about this ie explained it to them that your grades are suffering?

Good on you for trying to better yourself!!

    Hi
The suggestion of signing for freecycle is a good one and I really think you should do so.
I have got rid of a computer this way before.
Hope you find one - when our college replaced all their computers I helped students to rescue them from the skip .. do you know of any schools / businesses you could ask for an old machine - technology changes so fast that there must be lots of old ones about. You might find that the hard drives have been removed for data security reasons, but you can get drives on ebay.
    All the best of luck.
