Ive just realised why a guy in our office got a massive promotion a couple of years before he retires. He applied for a managerial role which will practicaly double his pension!!! Very crafty!! Pay a small pension for 40 years then apply for higher up jobs before you retire!!!
I suspect he was "bigging himself up" a bit. To double his pension he'd have to double his salary, seems unlikely knowing Public Sector pay scales.0 -

That was me exagerating not him, hes not mentioned his pension but my dad recons thats the only reason hes done it. He would have went from about 26 grand a year to approx 38K...0
