Who will survive? Where will I be next year? Six feet under or living in a mansion?
I expect 2009 is going to be a monumental year for world history and I eagerly await our fate. Its going to be fairly interestting. There is no tomorrow...0 -
Companies will have been holding on for as long as possible to get over the Christmas period. I predict January will see a flood of companies going under, with all the knock on effects...
Wooly's massive selling off in the next few days won't help other stuggling high street retailers....
That happened to me twice in the last recession. I was taken on by one company as they had a pre christmas rush, come January and it was dead...I was eventually made redundant on pay day at the end of Jan.
The other company, I had been there a couple of years but this was later on in the recession...again pre christmas rush, very busy and then trade went flatish and they decided to cut costs by relocating to another port. We were told in the first couple of days back after New Year, not a nice start to the year! Luckily, another company heard the news and I was headhunted and secured employment straight away and came away with a very nice redundancy payment. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
One thing you will learn in life is your dreams are dreams. They vary rearly come true.I've always enjoyed end-of-the-world scenarios and to be part of something is a dream come true.
Today is usualy the same as yesterday.
Just that when you have children every day gets better.
It was the same in the 80s cold war etc, never happend and very less likely to this time.;)0 -
I gave up waiting for aliens to attack or for a virus to wipe us all out so I'll just take financial ruin and see what cards we are dealt. There is no tomorrow...0

Are you sure you don't mean you've enjoyed reading and watching end-of-the-world fiction?
Actually living in a scenario where there's total economic collapse and resulting social unrest is going to be anything but a pleasant experience.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -
What an odd thing to say. The moving to centre-stage of this forum really has attracted a peculiar element
I agree it as now turned in to some kind of NWO end of days senario.
Take the woolworth closing down sales no better offers than the start of this week. A marketing ploy by the administrators to get bidders to get their fingers out. but the absolute end by the media (the administrators say it is 50/50 on a buy out.)0
