I wanna buy Muzzy.... or do I?

Well I keep reading about it & I wonder if its really worth the money.
Where is the cheapest place as even ebay prices are high?
Is it good or do the children lose interest after a few minutes?
Any info you might have on it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Hugs
Helen

Tried it with my 5 year old and he wasn't interested at all. I'm hoping he'll have a greater attention span as he gets older.
  • ours is residing in the corner. As ap arent you need to work with them on it - you cannot just leave them to it...so if you fancy learning italian go for it!

My daughter just never got to grips with it - borrow one if you can off someone just to see....
  • I work from home selling children's books and I sell A LOT of our first fun with french and spanish dvds and books to people who love the idea of Muzzy but just don't want or have the money to spend on a chance they might get on with it.

I'd suggest in the first instance you get a first words in French book (assuming it's french you want to do) and start talking about it. Maybe try some french songs, to get them accepting of the idea, or get your hands on a basic dvd - amazon are bound to do them, I should think?

We have Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine dvds in dutch, since we have dutch family, and my son is happy with them - even sings the dutch bob song as opposed to the English one now!

I have this and my kids love it (French one)

DD 3 and 4 (3yo and 18mo) sit there in awe. It is the only thing that keeps them quiet while I get on with the washing up!

I wanted basic story books for my kids in French - really simple (This is John. This is jane. John has a ball. See John give the ball to Jane - that sort of simple!) Even in France I cant find this stuff! I have some 7-10 YO fairy tales, but they are heavy going for me.

We have the fluffy Muzzy that came with it (My Dad is actually paying for it in monthly instalments) and DD4 hugs and watches and tries to copy the speach (She can't speak in English yet!)

DD3 sings along and replys back to the characters, but wont speack to me in French at all. Its even helped DD2 (11YO) who started secondary school and french this year. Her pronounciation has come on really well.

It is a lot of money and I would not have bought this myself without something else first. Have you tried Ebay France? Pick up a Teletubbies DVD in french for not a lot and see how they get on with that?

Thanks. I have the 30 day free trial thing that keeps coming through the door, maybe its worth taking them up on it just for that. We have a couple of language dvds & the children do love them. They love watching Dora aswell & have picked up a bit of spanish from that.
Thanks for the links. I had tried doing a search but the search wasnt working at the time.

Muzzy is way too expensive, just get something cheap from dream direct, the works or ebay;)
