Anyone had a letter from MBNA increasing their interest rate previously.......

They now have new procedures for anyone who has had one of those letters stating "As of X date, we are increasing your interest rates to x.x% (usually doubling them, or going up to 34.9%:eek: )
Their new procedure is going to be "you can opt out of the increase":j :beer:
BUT
ONLY by CLOSING your account.:mad:
apparently all to do with this lark of the government forcing companies to help people - THIS is MBNAs way of helping.

No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

I could, but i dont know this because a letter or phone call - I (unfortunately) work there.
But i can see it causing alot of grief.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
