Boots is selling the Panasonic 55 dvd-Ram recorder at around half price. Instore, so Triple Points (2397) makes it £176ish and any other points deals you can find should bring the price down further. Maybe a special local evening session if you are lucky
Details from Additions where it is £329 on three weeks delivery
These can record around 9 hours on one double sided DVD-RAM disk.
Single sided discs on BOGOF @ Argos £14.99 for 10

Are they any good and more importantly easy to use, thinking of getting one as a pressie for my folks.
The discs are cheaper at Costcos if you have a card, beats trying to get Argos staff to see sense and realise they do actually have BOGOF offer on them, thats the hassle I had when went into the stores anyway0 -
Panasonic are one of the original manufacturers od dvdrs. I got mine over a year ago. As simple as working a vcr.

I've had my multi-region E55 a year too.
Panasonic ones are a must due to the time slip feature.
You can watch one programme you have already recorded whilst recording another or watch a programme you are half way though recording from the beggining without waiting for the programme to end.0 -
Just looking at the Trade Counter in https://www.richersounds.co.uk and they have DMRE55's for £173, so the price from Curry's is VG (assuming it already includes the 10% off), but Egg Card holders can get an additional 5% off via https://www.egg.com/cashback0

The only problem is that you cannot use the RAM discs in other DVD players.
The DVD+RW recorders are better, as they use re-writeable discs that can be used in most DVD players.0 -
I am pleased with it, Im not techy minded but i manage to record and use the video plus, so it must be easy.Dreams Do Come True0
