Dress suppliers going bust

I've just had a thought about dress shops and what happens when they go under.
I ordered my dress the other week from a dress shop who has taken a 50% deposit and confirmed the order with the desginer (Kate Sherford)
Who holds the deposit?
What happens if the shop goes under, is the designer under any obligation to still provide the dress?

What does your receipt say? Did you pay on a credit card?

Yes we paid on a credit card just in case.
My main concern isnt the money, its the dress, I would still want the same dress and wanted to know if the contract is with the designer or the shop and who the deposit is held by0 -
I guess it depends on whether the shop have placed their order (although you would like to think that they have!) and whether any deposit has been paid by them......0

Does anyone know what standard procedure is in a wedding dress shop? I know they have definatley placed the order with the designer as they then sent me material samples.0
