    D'oh!! just reread your SOA. Check to see what sort of policy it is and what it will cover you for.

    You need to pay for eyetests so add a couple of £'s per month for that, every little helps. As you said it is better for the OR to reduce than to under estimate.

  • Right I've ammended my SOA (in post 6 above)

    Outgoings = 1228 (is this excessive for a single male??)
    Incoming = 1550
    Surplus = 322
    IPA = 198 (thats much better LOL)

    Not necessarily :)

    My outgoings were 1510 .. depends how far away you work, rent cost etc.

    it all depends on your personal situation ;)

    Just looking at your petrol, might be worth uping that a bit, especially with that round trip and what about going to the shops etc.

  • Great stuff. Thanks for your help everone. if I can get an IPA under £200 I'll be dead chuffed.

    Gonna go with it as it stands and get it written onto my "neat" form.

    Think I might have overdone the car so I'll leave it, ta.

    Thanks again

    Petrol is less likely to be cut than the MOT etc. So upping petrol to £100 or so and either leaving the rest or just dropping a couple of pounds off here and there will probably be better. Having a bigger petrol bill sort of also justifys the higher other bills, if that makes sense :confused:

    True but be careful .. when I submitted my original SoA back in March the OR went through all my car expenses and then proceeded to calculate how much it'd cost (time and money) to scrap the car and use public transport .. luckily it came back not viable as it would increase my journey time each way by about an hour/hour and a half.

    Not saying don't do it, just don't overdo it :)

  • Hmm. They won't let you have a decent car BUT an old banger uses tons of dosh to keep running....it's a catch 22 jobbie :confused:
