How many Christmas menus for £20 challenge?

Does this sound potty? I know there was a great thread earlier in the year for family meals for a fiver. I have been collecting Morrisons receipts, and will be eligable to get their £20 gift voucher. They promote this as enough for Christmas dinner . I guess it depends on expectations, but could you stretch it further and still have a fab time.
If I could provide a meal for four x 2, and a meal for eight, for example, I'd be well chuffed, (though the guests might not!)
If there were leftovers too, well :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Curried parsnip soup comes to mind!
& maybe a Dickensian themed fancy dress meal!

  • Shame the Gift Voucher is not for Lidl's, just been in there this morning and picked up leaflet for next week's special offers and on the front they say they can provide Xmas Dinner for £4.36 a head:-

    Smoked Salmon 200g £1.69
Self Basting Frozen Turkey 4kg £7.49
    Sausages in Bacon 680g £2.99
    Potatoes 2.5kg £0.69
    Brussel Sprouts 1kg £0.49
    Parsnips 500g £0.39
    Sage & Onion Stuffing 170g £0.45
    Bisto Best Gravy 350g £1.29
    Cava Brut 75cl £3.29
    Gateau 1400g £2.99

    Total £21.76

Apparently all these reduced prices start from Monday 15th December and this is based on feeding a Family of five so they say £4.36 a head - hope this is of use to someone.

Thankyou. I've just been to Morrisons, but was so busy trying to reach £40 spend for the voucher, without getting carried away, that I forgot about this. The challenge begins... I'll put my cooks hat on.

You have to spend £40 in Morrisons to use your £20 voucher too.
