As you already have a degree in law from a Russian University, can you see if you can do a conversion course or something similar here that will allow you to practice law?
Use your languages to get a job - I am sure that you will be able to get translation work. Also go temping, that will also help you to improve your English, read English books and newspapers as well as listen to the radio (these are the things that we are told to do when we learn a language - to read books, newspapers and listen to the radio in whichever language we are learning at the time).
Good luck.0 -

Thank you for the idea
I have looked at this opportunity. The legal systems of Russia and England are completely different that is why my degree in law is the same as degree in music here. To become a Solicitor I have to do a costly fast track 2 year uni course and 2 year placement contract. It would cost me around £20000 and I am not entitled to any grants. Unfortunately at the moment I simply can’t afford that. that is why i decided to complete Legal Secretary course just to get on the first step of legal ladder - if i can say like that.0 -

I presume that you speak Russian
May i then direct you to this forum- you may find some useful info there

No offence intended but I have to agree that your grammar is quite poor. I understand that is because English is not your first language, but this does not mean that any concessions will be made for you.
Having said that i am bilingual i just wanted to explain the nature of my mistakes if there were any and never expected that any concessions should be made to me because of that
And for God sake, it is a forum, not an academic essay writing competition0 -
How can a Russian law degree be the same as a British music degree? For a music degree I would expect you to be able to play a musical instrument or at least read music, law must be different.0

Sanita - here are some links for agencies that specialise in finding legal secretaries etc. Also there is a link to a career advice page from Monster.

A quick search on google will help you find more specialist temp agencies.0
