Cooking for a family

I am no great cook by any means, but as a family of 6 now, meals are becoming a real issue. I tend to cook the same things, and as my youngest is 9 months old he can't always have what we are eating. i really want to cook for everyone so we all eat the same. At the moment i do things like chicken, shepherds/cottage pie, spag bol, omlette, jacket spuds and some others.
i would love to hear what meals are 'classics' in your house and in particular ones that are suitable for a baby too. I want some ideas to steal please.

Pork and Pasta soup (they love this)
Corned Beef Hash (actually, this might not be suitable because of the high salt content in corned beef, but it's what we had for tea tonight so I've added it)
Chicken noodle soup
Pesto chicken (baby could probably have a smidge of pesto???)
Chilli beef wraps (could take out baby's portion without kidney beans and before you put in the chilli)
Bobotie (can't remember at what age children can have eggs??)
Veggie chilli
Fish pie
Salmon sesame kebabs
Fish and macaroni pie
Fish puff
Vegetable puff
Cor, I love cooking I do!!
Am happy to post any recipes although they are all 'my' recipes so I won't have measurements ....That's Numberwang!0 -
I have a 6 month old who eats with us, and I tend to just make everything without salt added and then me and DH put salt on if it needs. I tend to give my DD pretty much what we have just mashed of course! I'm trying to put gradually more flavour into her diet so putting more garlic, soy sauce, tahini, miso etc in sauces and meals as I want her to get used to things we eat as a family so won't have to make many changes when cooking for us, so far going well she wolfs down whatever I offer her usually except kiwi!
We make:
lasagna,
veggie pie, Make watercrust pastry so just butter and flour and bit of water, I use wholemeal too so it is fine for a little one!
vegetable crumble,
Lentil soup,
Mexican like fajitas or enchilada's,
stir fry,
stuffed peppers,
cheesy pasta with peas,
Stew or soup with dumplings or h/m bread,
veggie chilli and wraps.
Casserole- really easy to cook so good if your busy!
pasta bake,
cauliflower cheese with broccoli,
risotto,
shop bought veggie pie/ quorn fillet etc with lots of veggies (just give l/o the veg)
I also make extra veggies so I can freeze some for DD to eat when were having something she can't eat. Makes it easier than making two meals on one night!
As you can probably tell were veggie but you could add meat to most of these.0 -
