Coupons and vouchers at Asda

I've been in Asda Grimsby today and have been shown a notice thats been given to all the assistants.

From Monday they will no longer be taking coupons that are store specific. e.g.Tesco, Somerfields etc.

Well, my Asda won't even take the regular NCH tokens- it seems to vary store to store.

  • Asda do not accept Competitor coupons except in a few stores (usually new openings or those with close competition to other chains).

Supermarkets cannot redeem vouchers intended for another chain, therefore accepting them is done so at a loss.

You beat me to it knitwit, Ive just been in asda grimsby and been told exactly the same thing which is a nightmare for me!

Ive got soooo used to getting between a fiver and a tenner off my weekly shop using sainsburys and somerfield vouchers.

Will have to investigate the home delivery discounts on here now.

Out of interest........did she take all your somerfield vouchers without query? I have two mags which I picked up this morning, aiming to get my voucher stash back up again. ;)

The current Somerfield mag only has own brand coupons in, rather than manufacturers. There is no way for Tesco/ Asda to get their money back on those type of vouchers. Most of last months somerfield coupons were sold at Tesco. I'll have to wait until next month....
