However, the Council of Mortgage Lenders, of which BOS is a member, has said that anyone whose property was repossessed and sold and who has not been contacted by their lender within six years from the date of the sale will not be asked to pay the shortfall.

Please note that the law for England and Wales is different.

I think i managed to get a check on the property and the search should give details of when sold, price and current owner so hopefully that'll give me somewhere to start.

I'm not sure what ' demutualisation ' is. Would that mean that all responsibility for mortgage/property would have been passed to me ?
