Hi, I am thinking about buying a Mini Stitch sewing machine from Lakeland Plastics. They are only £19.56. Does anyone have one, I wondered what they are like and if you would recommend one for small jobs and repairs etc. Thankyou

Personally I wouldn't buy a small machine especially when there are some real bargain large ones at the moment Aldi has one for £38 and netto has one for £19.49Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Thanks, that's really helpful.:T0

I second this. They JUST about do lightweight cotton although you can never get the tension right and the stitching sits 'wrong'. Also they only do straight stitch which is very limiting.
Have you tried freecycle?0 -
My mum bought me the Aldi one this weekend but took it back as she couldn't get it to work. I bought the Netto one today and she is going to give it a go (she is the expert between us!)0

Buy cheap and you buy twice!!!
This is not a real sewing machine. Can you wait until the January sales and see what Argos or John Lewis have on sale?0 -
Thankyou for those replies, I think you have saved me a lot of money time and frustration. Will look into getting a "proper" one after Christmas.0
