Writing Off Credit Cards?

I'm new to all this, just registered and looking for some advice - does anyone know about this writing off your credit card debts stuff? It's been all over the newspapers recently and on Panorama, etc. From what I understand it's to do with the Terms & Conditions not being right in all the agreements or something and therefore not being enforceable.

Anyone know whether it works or not and any reputable companies that are doing it?

If you want to try it you can do it yourself for £1 plus postage. Basically you ask for a copy of the consumer credit agreement, and if they can't provide it they can't take you to court. BUT, the debt isn't written off, it just becomes unenforcable. You're more likely to succeed if the debt's been sold on to a debt collection agency, by which time your credit rating's trashed.
