And it does rather suppose that you can play the organ ...

You adapt, improvise and overcome...and start taking keyboard lessons.

Don't know about the OP, but I was desperate to play the organ in my youth, not very good on piano though and absolute PANTS at sightreading!

Err.. I learnt to play greensleeves on the recorder when I was 8, but that's about the limit on my musical ability.

Although from what I remember about going to church on a Sunday as a child, our church organist couldn't do much better. It was a real effort to sing hymns out of tune to keep up with her! :rotfl:

Don't limit yourself, look at every industry to find something that will suit you, there are a lot of retailers that require admin help but generally only for a few hours every week, this may help?

I'm going to get my CV sorted out and send it out with a covering letter to all local businesses. We have a small industrial estate and a few shops. You never know what might come up.

  • What about direct selling? There's not just avon and betterware any more - I tried Phoenix cards and now do Usborne books, which works quite well for me ... there's chocolate, candles, ann summers, all kinds of things, even cloth nappies!

That way you work when you want to, rather than having to work to someone else's hours.

I started wondering if there was anything you liked to do that you could make money from: cake decorating, cards, knitting, dressmaking etc. Or there's ironing ...
