I got a "notice of transfer of proceedings" letter today and have a question about what it orders, it states that "The hearing on the 13th of January 2009 be vacated" I have no idea what this means, I didn't know a hearing had been set (or is this the notice!)
Do we have to attend the hearing? So many questions!!

If a hearing is 'vacated' it means it will not now take place on that day.
Since this is a notice of transfer, it sounds like the case was due to be heard in January at Court A, but has now been transferred to Court B, and you should be informed of the new hearing date shortly (but it is worth giving the new court a ring in a couple of weeks to check if it has been listed for hearing)I'm a retired employment solicitor.
