Sky Tv Subs Reduction

After watching Martin's money saving prog on ITV I noticed that on a coupld of occasions he got the person to call Sky to reduce their package price.
I have been with Sky for a number of years (about 5) and also have the Sky+ box of tricks.
Rang up and whet through the normal call centre barrage of departments, eventually chose the "wanting to leave" section and talked to someone that seemed to be offshore...advised that been thinking about leaving due to cost and getting freeview....was then put through to another department (in Scotland possibly) where they had the following to say.
Offer on the table straight away because I had Sky for a few years and Sky+ and they offered two options.
1) Same package but 1/2 price for 3 months
2) Same package but 25% reduction for 12 months commitment to Sky.
I opted for option 1, I see no reason why (as did the person I spoke to) in 3 months time I can't then go for the 12 months offer.
Saved me £63.75 over the next 3 months, then it would be £127 over the next 12 months if I then go for option 2.
Try it - Nothing but money to save

This has been posted before and I remember one person saying that they tried to get the cheaper offer by telling Sky they wanted to cancel and Sky just cancelled so it didn't work for them but well in and at least you saved some money0

sky have proceeded in giving us 3 months 1/2 price on three consecutive occaisions, mainly because we've really pushed to say that we can't afford the package price and would have to leave... they have of course suggested removing the sports package (i tihnk it's the only additional package we have!) but that's the main reason we have sky!
so 9 months @ 1/2 price, I really do guess it just depends who you speak to and perhaps how long you've been a customer.0
