As I was typing that heading I thought should i leave it or amend it slightly? but went with leave it, thought it might generate more interest!!
with the onslaught of christmas upon us, i need to buy a fair few batteries mainly AAA for toys etc for christmas, I used to use MX2.com and the AA batteries were always good prices. i have tried some rechargable ones but they lasted nothing like the non rechargable ones and the power hungry toys didnt last or work to the full potential.
Any ideas on where to buy good quality batteries cheaply?
thanks

GP batteries are good quality and they do rechargable ones for decent prices. I bought 8x AAs, 4x AAAs and a charger for just over £20 delivered. They are decent output (2700mAh AAs and 800mAh AAAs) too so last a long time and are recharged in an hour.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Argos had Duracell Ultra (good for toys) at £3.20 for 4, with 100% free - AA and AAA0

You must have bought duff rechargeables or have a bad charger.
Duracell and Energizer do good quality rechargeable batteries.
You should look for 2500mAh capacity or larger.
Also look out for Fameart, Ansmann, Vapextech.
Sanyo have a great reputation for 2500mAh niMh.
You will also need a good quality charger that properly fills the battery.
Something with individual channels to charge each battery (not in pairs or banks)
Forget chargers that have a timer. Look for delta V chargers.
Again Fameart or Ansmann.
You won't like the cost of the charger much but it will save you in the long run.
Tantronics is a good place to start.

Poundshop - today I bought a 12 pack (+ 3 free) of AA batteries for £1.00. They are Hyundai "Super Heavy Duty". Also bought 2 of the rectangle ones (Kodak) for £1 as well.
