Experian - no warning when free trial ended?

I signed up recently to the Experian free trial and was pleased to see that they said they would contact me at the end of the free trial to see if I wanted to continue, as I didn't want to start a monthly payment with them. Well, they didn't and I've just been charged. Which is annoying.
Anyone else had this happen?

I recently signed up for this free trial too but I don't remember them saying that they'd contact me at the end of the trial.
Maybe I'm wrong but I thought they said that I had to contact them at the end of the trial if I wanted to cancel and if I didn't contact them then they'd assume I wanted to continue using them and be charged monthly (6.99?). I don't actually remember.
Mind, I got really panicky about being charged after a week of starting the trial and called to cancel straight away. I think they did it as I didn't get any cancellation notice (email or post) but I also haven't been charged anything.
Also, did you go through Quidco for the free trial? I did but haven't received anything for it yet. It hasn't tracked or anything. Has anybody else had this problem?0 -
Oh dear! Never assume anything is the key thing here, I'm afraid.
I put a reminder in my calendar and on my mobile to ensure I cancelled well before the end of the trial and a quick phone call sorted the cancellation out for me.
I didn't read anything at all about them contacting me to remind me about the end of the free trial. I applied about a month and a half ago.
I went via Quidco and have yet to have anything tracked, but I'm sure it'll turn up eventually.Thrilled to be DEBT-FREE as of 26.03.10

Yeah, I did the same as you Silverbird. About the same time, too, and I'm still wating for it to show up on Quidco. I'm sure you're right that it'll show up eventually. I was starting to think that I'd done it wrong and not clicked through Quidco properly

I did it through pigsback and have yet to receive my points. I'm actually waiting to cancel the experian until my points show up, as I want to get my voucher adn get out of there - such a dismal site nowadays. ANd I don't mind the experian so much, at least it's useful while I've got it.0
