Dorothy Perkins - online purchase/ store return glitch

Hi all,
I've ordered items a few times from the website, returned them instore and got more money back than expected. This first worked on jeans - I bought 2 pairs in the 2 for £25 (or £15 each). One didn't fit so I returned instore expecting either £10 back or £12.50. Despite the discount being shown on the invoice, I got £15 back, so got the other pair for £10!
Then today I returned 2 vest tops which I ordered online on the 3 for £12. I ordered while they were doing the 20% off so it cost £9.40 or something like that. I had a free delivery code which is on this site or HUKD somewhere. I returned the 2 I didn't like instore today and they gave me £9.80 back! So I'm 40p better off and have a vest top for free. OK, this won't work now they've stopped the 20% off, but I'd still have gotten it for £2.20 if I'd paid the original £12 for them.
This might seem a bit underhand, but all the discounts are noted on the invoice, so the staff can see what you've paid. It might not work if the sales assistant is aware, but if you have to return something it might be worth trying in store rather than sending it back in the post xxx

I work for Arcadia and when we are doing a refund the discounts don't automatically come off unless its a permanent markdown, so the staff member should look for all discounts first before processing the refund. But if her manager is doing her job right she should be cross checking the refunds at the end of the day and making note of any mistakes so the staff member will be made aware.0
