Freaking marzipan has been IMPOSSIBLE to find.
Ended up buying that Dr Oetzer stuff at twice the price of Asda after the shelves were empty at Tesco and Sainsburys.0 -
Have used up just half of my Tesco marzipan block.
I would love to try and make some truffley-type sweets with the remainder..does anyone have recipe please??
thanks0 -
** Proud mother alert ** DS 15yo has made both marzipan and Royal icing from scratch, and decorated our cake (which he also baked himself) :T
I'll add this to the existing thread, to keep ideas together.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Well done to DS PenPen - can we have a picture? DS has done the marzipan (will try making our own next year) and the icing will be tomorrow but we have bought this too. We need silver balls, none in waitrose so I'll try the corner shop in the morning. Only our second year of making the cake so I think we are doing quite well. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Sure thing! I'll take a pic today, but uploading may have to wait a day or two - have you seen what I still have on my list :rotfl::rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
