Yes Car again....advise please

Yes car credit keep on writing letters to my address for a good mate of mine, he does not live at my address and stayed with me for 2 weeks this time last year. I have informed Yes that he does not live here, however they still write to my address, I have had enough of these letters -- apart from telling them to stop - and they dont - where do I stand, what can I do next?

I am still in touch with my mate, but it aint down to me to give out his address etc.

I have a perfect credit record now, and aint missed any payments for anything for years now.

Thanks

All I would suggest is keep writing the letters and if your mate has any heart he will get in touch with them himself to sort whatever mess he has got himself into with YES! out....

I would strongly suggest that you tell your mate to get in touch with them or forward on his new address.

It might not be too much of a problem for you now but it might be if your address becomes blacklisted because of whatever issue your friend is having with Yes.

If he only stayed with you for 2 weeks he should nt have used your address - but surely a mate would nt want you to get into problems by you getting blacklisted for his problems?

If this is causing you too much hassle then you need to pass on their address to Yes. It is their debt and they should deal with it. Besides, if they were only with you for 2 weeks they shouldn't have used your address.

Or don't open them, write 'not living at this address' on the front and stick back in the post box. Do it for long enough and they will give up.

I did this with the people who used to live at my home (not debt related though) and it took about two years for most things to stop, and for a few it is still going on SEVEN years later!

Personally I'd give Yes your mate's address.

I thought this company had gone out of business a month ago.

I know you wont want to hear this, but whatever the problem your mate is in, its his fault and not Yes's. So they are entitled to chase their money at the address which he gave (ie yours)

Just as an afterthought, I assume your friend owes them money for a loan taken out at your address? If so, this will affect your credit rating too. You need to get a copy of your credit records and submit a notice of disassociation.

Not exactly, they've stopped taking new business as they have gone in to administration (or similar). Doesn't mean that existing contracts are not being enforced.
