Dvd Player.....

I think my dvd player broke yesterday as when I try to play Dvd's or Cd's it comes up with "No Disk". Its a great dvd player too. A phillips one with surround system including 5 mini speakers and a Sub woofer. Would be a shame to throw it out so not sure wether to try to get it fixed or just buy a new dvd player. The surround system also is all coded, so that i think it only fits that specific model..

If anyone knows where I can get a cheap-ish dvd player which prefrably plays copied dvds and cds I would be grateful, also any cheap packages with surround systems etc let me know. Thanks alot :p

you could try and clean the player... it could be that the lens has got a bit dirty...

Have done this a few times on different players, you can get the cd that cleans the lens for you but the best way I have found is to open up the machine and clean the lens with a cotton bud and a wee bit of surgical spirit....

Obviously if you do this make sure the machine is unplugged and don't look directly into the lens if it is in operation!!
