Just to say....with regards to the £10 Waitrose voucher in the Mail last Saturday- went to use it today-the lady on the till called someone else, who made a phone call, & was told that because there are no Waitrose stores in our immediate area (near Swansea), they wouldn`t be taking the voucher. A shame, as I had spent a lot of money, & that £10 off would have really helped
this happened to me and I phoned up tesco customer services who said taht they could be used, they contacted the store and I am going in at lunchtime with my voucher and receipt to collect my £10:j
  • Thaks for this info- it`s worth a try! What number did you use, please?

Phone customer services to see if you can get a refund. I changed mine at Tesco Worksop branch (after checking first at cusomer services ) and she said, after referring to someone else, that it was Company policy to accept this voucher . The nearest Waitrose is in Sheffield - 18 miles away. Good luck.

I called CS yesterday spoke to Bren who confirmed T's do take required spend coupons from other supermarkets. I was in T's shopping today and told the lovely checkout girls that i will be using this coupon on Thurs as i have checked its ok. The girls advised me if i have checked she will take it no problemo......

    Like they said (posts above!).

If you want to spend an hour phoning Dundee, ask for a Supervisor WHEN the first young call centre employee wrongly tells you the store was right. Keep going until they finally find someone there who actually knows. It'll take some time as they always think you are talking about Tesco coupons (like those from their magazine) and don't understand anything else, lol!

I think the phone number is 0800 505555.

But I wouldn't phone Dundee (why waste time?). Just go into your store CS desk and tell them you phoned Dundee and were told to bring your receipt and the voucher to come & get the £10 back. That will put the cat among the pigeons, keep asking for it to be referred up the line until you finally get someone who knows. If need be they can phone Dundee but again, don't let them get away with accepting the first wrong answer they get. The store needs to look at the policy they have had sent through by HO (Cheshunt).

A store can decide not to accept ordinary mocs due to abuse but they can't make arbitrary decisions as to how close a rival is, as far as Conditional Spend mocs are concerned. It's irrelevant as it's a national policy regardless of proximity of the rival. How do they know where all their customers live anyway (unless you use a clubcard of course)?!

Here's a link to a post with the EXACT wording which states Waitrose as the example, lol! This wording was sent to stores last year and was apparently confirmed in an email only a couple of weeks ago (please thank rosebud982 for this OP):

Print the page out & go instore (be proud to be on MSE!). Same goes for anyone else with more Waitys mocs to use up. Don't let your Tesco store move the goalposts when they are wrong and it costs you a tenner!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I phoned the number that was on the top of my tesco receipt which I think is specific to my store, although I was also given the 0800 505555 number to call. Good luck !

Hi does anyone know if The Times is still printing their "Dine then Stay free" tokens for hotels? I see it is still mentioned above with a link to get one free token but I need another one! thanks

Actually I have just used the Daily Mail offer instead! Got a brilliant offer for Ramada Tunbridge Wells- the room is £20 but I added brakfast and dinner to bring the total to £68. Looks really nice, the OH should be pleased with this pressie!
