Gift ideas for elderly animal lover?

I'm at a loss for gift ideas for an elderly relative, she's always been a great animal lover so I'm thinking something pet/animal related. She's fairly immobile and of limited means, so i'd like to get something "for her" rather than say adopting an animal - maybe a really nice book with lots of pictures. I've checked out the rspca and cats protection league on-line gifts, but can't find anything that I think really suitable. Any suggestions greatfully received! (looking to spend upto £30)

    How about a bird table?
Or one of the David Attenborough DVD sets Planet Earth or whatever the animal one is?
The company I adopt the family Reindeer through sends a newsletter twice a year and always replies to letters and emails etc
Have you got a local Zoo or Farm that is open to the public could you buy her membership for a year?
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

My grandma in law had a clock in the shape of a boxer dog's face as that was her favourite breed :)

  • you can ge bird feeders which stick to a window so they'd be easier to watch from indoors and to fill up.

QS has a 'bird' clock which makes a different bird noise every hour

My mum is immobile and has a bird feeder standing outside the window.....she loves to see the different kinds of birds that 'visit' -maybe something like that with a book on birds so she can identify them?

  • looks like the bird table/feeder is a popular idea! I am liking the idea of combining it with a bird "guidebook". Thanks!
