advice please. amazon and mispriced items??

Options
Hello just wondered if anyone could give me a little advice. I ordered something that was priced really low on amazon so went for it ordered it and some other things and today have got a email saying that it was mispriced and that my order has been cancelled and if i want the item i have to buy it at the full new price!

I think in shops if a item is priced wrong then they will/have to seel it at that price? is that not the same on amazon??

Just wondered if it was worth me trying to email to say anything to see if i can still get it rather then just give up?? might be worth a try....

The price i paid was £21.99 and its now £85 so a big difference.....

Any advice would be great...

If the price is mispriced in the shop, mainly as a gesture of goodwill they offer it to you at that price. (Depending how much of a misprice)
However Amazon are within their rights to cancel the order, you can email them and ask but its more than likely they will not honor this price as its such a huge difference. There is no law that says they have to honor it, so I can not see them doing it.

I might email something, and see if then they might give me a little discount or something as goodwill?? you never know..

  • Hi just wondered with a update to this situation, how fair is it of Amazon to deliver some of these products at the lower price but not to others. If they have made a mistake shouldnt they send it to everyone or nobody??

Guess im just gutted as i ordered it then told people about it and mine has come back with a emaill and theres have been sent out at the cheep price, received today??

Anyone got any advice on a email i could send to them for just a try??

unfortunately they dont have to sell at that price, they dont even have to sell it to you at full price, its down to them and their decision. if others have got it after you haev ordered its just a case of bad luck or not using the first class delivery

Just forget it, they will not honour the order, and there is no law that says that they have too. Some people are lucky, the item got sent before the mistake was noticed and Amazon will do nothing, but if they spot it prior to billing and dispatch then they can and will cancel the order.
