I know this is a random question - but does anybody know if it is illegal to leave a car parked on the side of the road (for a long period of time) with it's headlights on?

I just had GWR Wiltshire on the phone,I had won day 9 of their advent calendar competition for a £50 Debenhams voucher to spend in their store excluding Consessions and unfortunately I couldnt take that prize with being in Devon so asked them to redraw it who is closer in Wiltshire.The prize was going to be presented in the Wiltshire Store,Never mind cant win everything but the man was lovely and wished me a happy Christmas anyway.

depends on parking restricions, id say its stupid as they will have a flat battery! xxx

Well it is on a road and every night on my way home from work there is a car parked on the wrong side of the road with its headlights on facing me when you come round the corner (and as there are cars parked on the other side of the road you can't see what's coming so looks like there is a car coming when it isn't it is actually parked up) i left a note asking them not to park leaving their lights on and last night they had done it again and had left their curtains open so they could see who did it!

Its really annoying me! They move the car from the drive and then leave it parked up for 2 hours with the lights on and then put it back on their drive

Any ideas what else i can do?

isnt there something in the highway code, about a parked car turning its engine off?
Was it causing a disturbance? noise etc can be reported to the council

Technically u r meant to park on sides off road with parking lights on, so they might just be confused xxx
