Yes, it is. I earn more than I pay in childcare....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

By your reasoning is it fair to say though, that you see NDG's Nanny as quite well off too?
The nanny of course, will be subjet to th same 'london premium' of living costs as NDG I guess (IIRC she is not live-in)0 -

We most likly will 'overspend' on property in many people's eyes. We currently have no children (thus no expense or decision over fee paying or otherwise). We don't holiday in Barbados! In very general terms we tend to holiday in the country we are in. We do however, have an slight added issue that none of DHs immeadiate family live in UK. DH has seen his family too infrequently in recent years and in the future I imagine our costs relating to that will go up.We do not use central heating.
We do however have expensive hobbies..totally choice, no one forces us to keep animals.
We spend a lot on transport, rent/storage and similarly classed spends, and our pets.
That's why I class you as a high earner - you have the luxury to have expensive hobbies and to spend a lot on other things. Unfortunately peole on middle and low incomes don;t have that option. I sometimes think twice about my weekly yoga class and that is a tenner.
I'm not judging you, but I think if you consider you are not on a hig income then you are deluding yourself and doing those of us on middle incomes and below a disservice.
My Oh earns about 36k, I currently earn nothingbut I still consider us to be comfortable as we have almost no mortgage and can afford to go out regularly, as well as save each month. If we had lots of spare cash like you guys have (by spare I mean to spend on non-essentials) then I'd consider us well off.

£2100x12 = £25,200 so near enough an average British salary. I would expect NDG's pricing to be competitive and that she is offering a fair salary.
Additionally, a lot of nannies live in so a salary in that range without housing costs could be very worthwhile.0 -

I consider the nanny to be a middle earner as she is on 25,200 pa, as per my original post answering the OP.
And ot clarify, I also have London premium, or SE premium as I live in Henley-on-Thames which is not cheap, so I think I'm in a position to comment.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

She doesn't live-in, no. She's a professional nanny (been working with children since she was 16, and is now in her mid-40s) and has her own house....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It's slightly above average, by about £2.5k. But we don't see this as an area where cheap is best....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

The other question is, is she being paid cash?
If she's live in + cash, a lot of people would consider her a high earner!0 -

Henley is very pricey, certainly.
But good schools, in general? Gilletts and the Henley College are both pretty good, I think?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

She's neither live-in nor a tax dodger. All proper taxes are paid!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
