in Cutting tax
Hi,
I pay my self assessment tax on account, this means the IR assume I am going to earn the same in the current tax year as the previous year and I have to pay my tax in 6 monthly chunks.
My income for 07-08 was high but for 08-09 it was low, I have predicted what my income would be for 08-09 its a combo of salary, interest and dividends, but I need to work out the tax owed so I can reduce my payments for Jan 31 09. Is there any online calculators I can use for this ? I used to use one on taxcentral but its gone now, my accountant is useless I will be waiting weeks for a response.
Cheers

I'm not sure if there is a calculator but if it's just salary, bank interest and dividends you can pm me the figures and I can give you a good estimate of what tax is due on them. I would also need to know your tax code, any benefits you receive from your employment like free medical or a company car etc (if any) and anything else that might affect your tax code.0
